I've been tagged....
Merry belated christmas! Good I remembered my password for blogger again...it's a long time since I've been posting...I still suffered this sinus thing and it wouldn't let me go...then i finally took antibiotics and now it is better, at least this darn headache is gone...I hope you all had a wonderful christmas eve with your families, I had ! ;)
A long time ago Lime tagged me, and I promised to answer of course...now I'm gonna keep my promise although it was christmas related and christmas is almost over now:
Lime tagged me and I better answer otherwise she might force me to drink a bottle of swedish mulled wine lol
1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Hot Chocolate
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? No Santa here..it is the "Christkind" that brings wrapped presents
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? Real bees wax candles
4. Do you hang mistletoe? This year no
5. When do you put up your decorations? 1st Advent, tree gets put up 1 day before or on christmas eve (24th)
6. What is your favorite holiday dish? Traditionally it used to be carp with egg and potatoes when I was a child...now, with hubby and his family it is goosebreast with potatoe dumplings and red cabbage with apple
7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child? Christmastime at my grandparents' house with all aunts, uncles and cousins.
8. When and how did you learn that Santa isn't real? oh, actually I still believe in the "Christkind" and Nikolaus! No Santa here!
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? Of course since this is the day for giving the presents here in Germany.
10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree? Kids are crafting some stars or whatever, sweets, bulbs, birds, whatever we can think of. Sometimes it's the classic red and green, sometimes, more golden or silver, it depends on us...it's always different!
11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? Love snow but we don't have some most of the times
12. Can you ice skate? Yes, but not this good any more.
13. Do you remember your favorite gift? A 2-room doll house when I was a child.
14. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you? To spend time with my family.
15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? Ice cream.
16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? We go looking for the "Christkind" with the kids..we go out in the afternoon when it is really dark already, taking flashlights and candles with us but most important: sparklers for the kids, to make the Christkind come to us - at least we try...but you all know that the Christkind is very shy! It is big fun for the kids, also because it is not too usual to go out for a walk at night lol
And then we go back and surprise: all the presents are under the tree!!!
I hope you all had wonderful christmas days and a beautiful time with your family!
All the best to all of you and take care, wherever you are
Sylvie

How fun to read about traditions in Germany! You have so many wonderful traditions!
Wow Sylvie, actually I thought our traditions should be similar but they're truly different:-) Glad you found the times to play and I hope you're better now.
